First Generation Student Series: Understanding Next Steps for First Generation Students

Description
This session is for students that are the first in their families to attend college or are the first in their families to attend college in the U.S.

This session will prepare students for their next enrollment steps. Students will hear from:
- Counseling & Advising Services: What happens at NSAR (New Student Advising and Registration)? Understanding placement tests/scores, course selection & the importance of self-care.
- Learning Commons: Tutoring services, placement test preparation, & other available workshops.
- Student Financial Assistance: Understanding the Financial Aid Award Letter and important requirements.

Presentation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. There will be an optional workshop time from 7 to 8 p.m. Representatives will be available to assist you with completing your COD application, setting up your myACCESS, submitting your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), reviewing your financial aid award letter or addressing any additional questions you may have.

Please note: Students will not be meeting with an Academic Counselor to select classes during this event.
This session is FREE to attend.
